The highly anticipated movie “Honor Thy Father,” featuring veteran drama actor John Lloyd Cruz is one of the official entry of the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival which will start showing on Friday, December 25, 2015.

“Honor Thy Father,” was graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board, and according to Erik Matti on his official Facebook page, it would be a great birthday and Christmas gift for him if people could watch his movie.

Erik Matti was quoted as saying “We don’t really need to make 400 million at the box office (but if your friends and family amounts to that, why not?) but we just want our film to have a chance to be seen by as many,” he said.

The veteran director noted that “Honor Thy Father” has not been given a lot of cinemas as “they want a more Christmasy, zany line-up of films and none of the serious ones which they think our film is.”

John Lloyd Cruz also noted in a separate interview that he is hoping more Filipinos will get to see “Honor Thy Father.” Aside from John Lloyd Cruz, also featured in the movie are Meryl Soriano and Tirso Cruz III.
