The tough-talking mayor of Davao City, Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte officially files his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for President of the Republic of the Philippines on Friday, November 27, 2015, shortly after he withdrew his COC for Mayor in Davao City.
Mayor Duterte did not personally went to Manila to file his COC but a certain Atty. Salvador Medialdea filed Duterte’s COC on his behalf at the Commission on Elections’ (COMELEC) law department shortly before noon on Friday.
The COC of Mayor Duterte for President was supported with an attached Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance from he Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
The leading presidential candidate in Metro Manila based upon the latest Pulse Asia survey, Mayor Duterte was in Davao City on Friday morning where he formally withdrew his mayor bid before he poll body’s office.
Mayor Duterte was accompanied by his daughter, Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio, who subsequently replaced him as substitute candidate for Mayor of Davao City under the local party Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod.
