One of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign manager Atty. Jose Calida revealed during an interview with ABS-CBN that the entire Duterte groups welcome the possibility of supporters from different groups endorsing their respective Vice Presidential bet.
The campaign manager also revealed some of the groups and even famous names who pledge to support the candidacy of Mayor Duterte for President in the upcoming 2016 national elections.
Some groups who already aired their support for the candidacy of Mayor Duterte for president are the Champions of Rody Duterte (CORD), Friends of Duterte and the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption headed by its chairman James Jimenez.
Aside from the groups supporting Mayor Duterte, among the most notable personalities who supports the Mayor’s candidacy are allies of former President Fidel V. Ramos, particularly former North Cotabato governor Manny Pinol, one of Mayor Duterte’s closest allies in Mindanao.
Also included in the reported supporters of Mayor Duterte are former AFP Chief of Staff Hermogenes Esperon, TV5 journalists Tulfo brothers, and actors Robin Padilla and his brothers.
Mayor Duterte’s campaign manager, Atty. Jose Calida who served as a Justice Secretary during the time of Pres. Arroyo revealed that some of those who were supporters of other presidential candidates are now supporting Mayor Duterte’s run for the presidency.
