Sen. Alan Cayetano to Withdraw as Vice President Just to Support Mayor Duterte

Vice Presidential candidate Senator Alan Peter Cayetano decided to withdraw his plans for higher office just to convince Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to run as President of the Republic of the Philippines. This was the revelations made by a well-known Duterte supporter, former governor Manny Pinol.

According to Pinol’s sources, during the birthday of Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, the senator told Mayor Rodrigo Duterte that he was willing to sacrifice and quit the race to serve as the Davao City Mayor’s campaign manager for the Presidency.

Sen. Cayetano reportedly told Mayor Duterte that he could be his campaign manager while gunning for the Vice Presidency or even go to the extent of abandoning the quest for Vice President just to focus on Mayor Duterte’s campaign.

During the past few weeks, Sen. Cayetano pursued and convinced Mayor Duterte to run for President saying that only the Davao City Mayor has the experience and resolve to implement drastic changes in governance in the Philippines today.

The 70-year-old Mayor Duterte was obviously surprised by the offer of Sen. Cayetano, who still has three years left in his second term, has made of his admiration for Duterte as revealed by Roldan Gorgonio, close-in writer of Duterte Media Group.
