Forbes: Katy Perry Tops the Highest-Earning Artist Lists of 2015

One of the world’s leading magazines, Forbes, released this year’s list of highest-earning artists and announced that Katy Perry dominated their list as she beat Taylor Swift and become the highest-earning woman in the music industry. The singer didn’t make as many headlines, nor sell as many albums but topped the elite list of artists.

The 31-year-old Katy Perry earned a whopping $135 million in the past 12 months, the main reasons of her huge success was due to the world-renowned “Prismatic” tour and endorsement deals with beauty companies like Coty and CoverGirl.

Taylor Swift on the other hand, ranked second with an estimated $80 million income, despite her 8.6 million sales globally for the hit album “1989,” and the start of her world tour. The 25-year-old Taylor Swift couldn’t toppled Katy Perry’s huge earnings according to the latest data gathered by Forbes and released on Wednesday.

Katy Perry’s latest album “Prism” has sold some four million worldwide since its release in 2013 and the “Roar” singer has been touring for most of the year.

Making it to the list of highest-earning artists for the year 2015 is the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac who placed third with $59.5 million, Lady Gaga was at fourth with $59 million and Beyonce slipped to 5th place with an estimated $54.5 million earnings.
