During the game against Hong Kong, the Gilas squad found their range from the perimeter which was one of their primary problem during the opening day of FIBA Asia aside from forcing Hong Kong for forced turn-overs.

Five players of the Gilas Pilipinas squad scored in double figures led by Jayson Castro, who scored with 21 points, while Andray Blatche added with 17 points and eight rebounds.

Gilas made mincemeat of Hong Kong’s defense all throughout the game as they converted 46.1% of their field goals – 50% from the two-point area, and 41.2% from beyond the arc. The lead could have been even bigger had Gilas shot better from the free throw line, where they were only 17-of-28.

Gilas returns to action against Kuwait Friday afternoon at around 4:30 P.M.
