Politicians Started Exodus to NPC After Grace-Chiz Announcement

Local politicians including at least two congressmen and a hundred other local officials from different parts of the Philippines started their exodus to join the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) to support the presidential bid of Sen. Grace Poe and her running mate Sen. Francis Escudero.

Caloocan Representative Recom Echiverri, an LP member, and Camarines Sur Representative Rolando Andya, an ally of detained President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, were among those who would take their oath as new members of the NPC.

According to reports, the oath-taking of the newest members of the NPC will be held at the NPC’s Club House in New Manila, Quezon City.

The politicians who joins the NPC bandwagon also revealed that it is not only congressmen but other elected officials will be joining the NPC sooner. The exodus of various politicians from the administration party to the opposition is considered as a positive sign for the Grace-Chiz tandem, only two days after their formal declration.

Some politicians noted that they decided to join the NPC, which is expected to endorse Sen. Grace Poe and Sen. Chiz Escudero because of the “freshness” of the party’s bet for 2016.
