A former banana cue vendor, Elha Nympha joined the elite list of The Voice of the Philippines winner after she was declared as the grand champion of the country’s most popular singing competition for kids. The second season of the Voice Kids of the Philippines grand finals was held on Sunday night at the Resorts World Manila.
Before the announcement of winners, the 11-year-old Elha Nympha got into the finals after garnering 18.23% votes in the semis with her extra-ordinary rendition of the Martin Nievera classic song “Ikaw ang Lahat Sa Akin.”
Coach Bamboo was so impressed with her talent, Elha Nympha and appealed to the public to trust the young aspiring singer. He was quoted as saying “Pilipinas, please, magtiwala kayo sa anong narinig niyo, anong nakita niyo, at naramdaman mo. She is a very special singer. Undeniable” coach Bamboo stated.
During the finale performance of Elha Nympha on Saturday night, she brought the house down with her performance of Mariah Carey’s “Emotions,” drawing loud cheers after she effortlessly hit the song’s whistle tone.
The grand winner of The Voice Kids Season 2, Elha Nympha got 42.16% of votes, followed by Reynan Dal-Anay, Esang de Torres and Sassa Dagdag. This is also the first time that Kamp Kawayan dominated the country’s most popular singing competition.
Before the grand finale, Elha Nympha was just an ordinary banana cue vendor who dreams of making it big in the music industry. She entered the Blind Audition of The Voice as the last member to join Kamp Kawayan after she wowed her coach with her cover of Mariah Carey’s “Vision of Love.”
