Netizens Blast Lawmakers Flashing Anti-Aquino Signs as SONA Ends.

As expected, Makabayan lawmakers were not satisfied again with what President Benigno Aquino III said on his last and final State of the Nations Address yesterday.

Though the president received numerous applause from the majority of the attendees at the Batasang Pambansa on Monday, the finale was for the anti-Aquino lawmakers.

The Makabayan lawmakers booed Aquino as they flashed Anti-Aquino signs at the end of the SONA.

As the president remained calm amid tension in the back, the lawmakers flashed “Serbisyo Palpak” sign, among others, as they were then assisted to the exit of the hall.

This did not come as a good example to netizens who, majority, found it a “disrespectful” act especially that the protesters are lawmakers.

Netizens took to social media to air their anger over the lawmakers for the “unprofessional” act.

Meanwhile, Quezon City Rep. Winston Castelo condemned the actions of the Makabayan bloc who made a scene at the catcalls of the audience.

We will confer with House leadership and other on the liability of some of our colleagues who initiated that stunt to embarrass our guest (PNoy). We respect their rights to express our grievances. But there are other ways to do it without resorting to unparliamentary behavior,” Castelo said.
