SBP Executives Hopes Kobe Paras to Compete in the Manila Masters FIBA 3X3 2015

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) hopes that teenage basketball sensation Kobe Paras will compete in the highly anticipated Manila Masters of the 2015 FIBA 3X3 World Tour which will be hosted by the Philippines in the next few days. SBP Executive Director Sonny Barrios hopes that the US-based high school basketball star will represent the country.

Kobe Paras wins Slam Dunk

SBP executive director Sonny Barrios hopes so and was quoted as saying “We’re trying if we could bring in Kobe Paras. He had lots of success in 3×3 and he has won the Slam Dunk Contests. We’re trying to see if we can bring him in,” he said.

The 17-year-old Kobe Paras won the FIBA U-18 3X3 Slam Dunk Contest twice and the SBP director is hopeful that the second-generation baller will find the time to strut his stuff in front of his countryment.

Although some basketball officials in the country hopes for Kobe Paras participation, the UCLA-bound cager already made commitment to appear in the Adidas training camp where he was invited earlier. The Manila Masters will be held in August which coincides with the Adidas training camp where Kobe Paras made a commitment to participate.

The SBP also revealed that the FIBA request is for Kobe Paras to include in the Manila Masters, not just in the slam dunk competition but also in the competition.

Kobe Paras participation could also make a hype for basketball fans as the Manila Masters will feature the sensational Lausanne Masters Dunk Contest winner Porter Mayberry, who stands at just 5-foot-4.
