Metro Manila Number Coding Lifted Today in Observance of the Feast of Ramadan

The usual number coding scheme in Metro Manila was lifted by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), today, Friday, July 17, 2015, in observance of the Eid’l Fitr or Fast of Ramadan holiday celebrated by our Muslim brothers in different parts of the country.

MMDA posted an advisory on its social media pages as they noted that the scheme would be suspended in all cities and municipalities in Metro Manila, today, July 17, 2015

The Department of Education (DepEd) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) already declared suspension of cl(–foul word(s) removed–) after the national government announced the date of the Ramadan Holiday, a nationwide regular holiday.

All government agencies across the country also suspend their service for the Ramadan holiday. Meanwhile, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said there would be no passport and other consular services in all of its offices during the Ramadan holiday.

DFA announced that “Passport applicants for DFA-Aseana and mall-based satellite offices who have scheduled appointments on July 17 will be accommodated from July 20 to 24 upon presentation of proof of their respective appointments,” DFA stated. The government agency noted that the operations at its Aseana branch in Macapagal Boulevard will resume on July 20.

Pres. Aquino declared July 17 as a regular nonworking holiday through Proclamation No. 1070.
