The Philippine Women’s Volleyball team defeated Team Malaysia on their second game in the 2015 SEA Games Women’s Volleyball competition as they dominated the Malaysians with the final score of 25-15, 25-18, 25-16. The victory came after the Filipinos suffered their first loss in the tournament against Indonesia.

Ateneo volleyball star Alyssa Valdez led the Philippines with her 13 kills while Dindin Santiago-Manabat, team captain Jovelyn Gonzaga and one of the most popular athlete in the SEA Games, Rachel Anne Daquis combined for 22 points.
During the game, no Malaysian player was able to score in double digits as Shun Thing Beh leads her teammates with just nine markers. The Women’s Volleyball team’s victory against Malaysia put them in contention for a medal despite their lost against Indonesia.
Team Philippines are composed mostly of collegiate volleyball stars who joined forces to represent the country in international competitions. The Philippines victory is also the first time, our women’s volleyball team won after 10-year hiatus.
