Manny Pacquiao’s Shoulder Injury Surgery a Huge Success

Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao underwent an operation for his shoulder injury he suffered during his sparring session before the Mayweather bout. The surgy on his ailing right shoulder on Wednesday in Los Angeles, was a huge success as confirmed by his doctors.

The operation was performed by veteran orthopedist Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who noted right after the surgery that the world’s eigth-division world champion in different weight categories will make a full recovery and return to the ring.

Based upon estimates Manny Pacquiao will be sidelined in four to six months after he underwent surgery. The shoulder injury of Manny Pacquiao started during a sparring session on April 4 and further damage in his Saturday night (Sunday morning, Manila time) unanimous-decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

In a previous interview, Pacquiao told reporters that pain he undured after throwing combinations in his dominant fourth round felt like “a needle being stuck” in his shoulder.

Manny Pacquiao was defeated by Floyd Mayweather via Unanimous Decision after the judges turned in scores of 118-110, 116-112, 116-112 for Mayweather (48-0).

Manny Pacquiao was also deniedy by the Nevada State Athletic Commission from receiving a shoulder injection of the anti-inflammatory medication Toradol which left the Filipino boxing icon “disappointed” at the commission.
