Rain or Shine Elasto Painters defeated the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters in Game 2 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals held on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum with the final score at 116-108 and even the best-of-seven finals series. During the Game One of the finals series, Rain or Shine was defeated by Talk ‘N Text.
After the Elasto Painters bowed out in the series opener with the final score at 99-92, the team managed to kept the game tight in the first three quarters of the game before finishing the Texters in the final period.
Despite the impressive performance of Jayson Castro, the Elasto Painters managed to win against Talk ‘N Text as they ruined the massive effort of the Gilas Pilipinas mainstay who scored a career-high 44 points, including 9 three-point-shot.
The Elasto Painters import Wayne Chism led his team and made a balanced performance of 30 points and 13 rebounds while Gilas Pilipinas point guard Paul Lee led all the locals with 20 points. Fellow Gilas Pilipinas standout Jeff Chan and Gabe Norwood scored with 17 and 14 points respectively.
The Tropang Texters was led by Jayson Castro in Game 2 of the finals series by scoring 44 points, while their import Ivan Johnson scored with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Local players such as Ranidel De Ocampo and Matt Ganuelas-Rosser scored with 15 and 10 points respectively.
