One of Walt Disney Company’s most successful movie, Frozen will be having its sequel, the best-selling animated movie of all time created an online frenzy for the upcoming movie. Although the release date was not set yet, the production company made some moves to create an online frenzy by giving some details to the press with the upcoming sequel of Frozen.
Frozen director Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee will be returning for the sequel, the previous movie became a surprise hit in 2013 raking in nearly $1.3 billion in global ticket sales, the helped push the media giant to record profits.
The highly anticipated Frozen sequel comes hours before the short film “Frozen Fever” opens for Disney’s live-action “Cinderella” movie, which debuts on Friday.
During the announcement, chief executive officer of Walt Disney Animation Studio and Pixar Animation Studio, John Lasseter stated that they really enjoyed making “Frozen Fever” and being back with those characters, Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel.
Aside from Lasseter, one of the Frozen character appeared during the announcement, Josh Gad, who provided the voice of the snowman Olaf. The popular character Olaf will appear in the second film alongside Anna and Elsa in the icy Nordic Kingdom. Kristen Bell portrays the voice of Elsa while Idina Menzel played the role of Elsa.
Walt Disney also announced that it will release the eighth episode of the “Star Wars” film series this coming May 26, 2017, whie a spinoff film called “Rogue One” debuts on December 16, 2016, shortly after the release of the highly anticipated seventh episode, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is one of the most anticipated films of the year, directed by J.J. Abrams and starring returning franchise stars Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher and newcomers Oscar Isaac and Lupita Nyong’o.
