During the live semifinals round, the remaining eight contestant perform twice, first a solo performance and a duet with their teammate. In the solo performance on Saturday, Rence Rapanot performed the song “Ikaw at Ako” by Johnoy Danao while Rita Martinez performed the song popularized by Rivermaya titled “Himala.”

Rence Rapanot and Rita Martinez returned on Sunday with the duet “Mahirap Magmahal ng Syota ng Iba,” to the delight of the live and TV audience.

Right after the performance of both Rence and Rita, Coach Sarah noted that she really enjoyed the performance as she was quoted as saying “Sobrang kong na-enjoy ‘yun ah. Parang ngayon ko lang nakita na nag-loosen up si Rence and si Rita.” she said.

Sarah Geronimo chose Rence Rapanot as the better performance while Coach Bamboo admitted that it was difficult to choose among the artists.

In the end Rence Rapanot got 55% from his coach, while Martinez got 45% from Bamboo. But Rapanot eventually got the slot in the final four after getting a whopping 57.41% of viewers’ votes.

Rence Rapanot will compete against Alisah Bonaobra, Jason Dy and Leah Patricio in the grand finals next weekend.
