Kapamilya actress and TV host Toni Gonzaga is now engaged to director Paul Soriano as the director revealed to the public that he is already engaged to Toni Gonzaga. The revelation of the engagement was made during an exclusive interview with Paul Soriano in “The Buzz” on Sunday, February 1, 2015.
The admission of director Paul Soriano came out on Sunday when he was asked about the status of his relationship with Toni Gonzaga, his girlfriend for more than seven years.
According to direk Paul Soriano, he proposed to Gonzaga last January 21 in their family home in Rizal — when she least expected it.
The director was quoted as saying “It was right after her birthday. It was like 12:30 a.m. January 21. We’d just come from a birthday dinner and I had the ring in my pocket the whole dinner. I just wanted to wait for the right private moment. It happened in her home, just very simple. She was in her pantulog already,” he said.
Paul Soriano also narrated that he first talked to Toni Gonzaga’s parents before asking the Kapamilya star is she would marry him. The proposal had the blessings of Toni’s parents who was also present aside from Toni’s sister Alex Gonzaga who witnessed the proposal made by Paul Soriano.
Toni Gonzaga also shared her experienced during Paul Soriano’s engagement proposal: “Matutulog na ako, wala akong idea. Tapos mamaya pumanik si Paul. Bawal siya pumanik sa second floor. Kasama niya sila mommy and daddy. Paglabas ko sabi niya, ‘Where’s your sister? Call her.’ Paglabas na ni Catherine, sumimangot na siya. Tapos nagsalita na [si Paul]. Habang nagsasalita na siya, sabi ni Catherine, ‘Ay hindi, ay hindi.’ Tapos tumakbo si Alex so hindi siya natapos magsalita, hinabol pa ni [Paul]. ‘Catherine, go back!’ Sabi ni Alex, ‘Ayaw ko! Ayaw ko yan!’ Umeeksena pa si Alex. Tapos bumalik na siya. Tapos tumakbo na naman si Alex, hinabol na naman siya ni Paul. Tapos sinabihan na siya ng daddy na wag na tumakbo,” Gonzaga shared.
According to Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano they are planning to tie the knot this year 2015.
