“Bagyong Queenie” November 28, 2014 Storm Signals, & Hourly Updates

The Tropical Depression Queenie (Bagyong Queenie) has crossed Northern Palawan and is now moving towards the West Philippine Sea, as confirmed by the county’s weather bureau, PAGASA on its latest weather bulletin. Bagyong Queenie wrecked havoc in some areas of Northern Mindanao and the Visayas Region during its landfall yesterday.

According to PAGASA in its 5:00 AM weather bulletin, Bagyong Queenie was estimated to be at 120 kilometers north of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan with a maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center.

The Tropical Depression is forecast to move west-northwest at 24 kilometer per hour (kph) speed. PAGASA noted that Public Storm Warning Signal is currently hoisted over Palawan including the Calamian Group of Islands and Cuyo Islands.

In other parts of the country, the public storm warning signals are now lowered according to PAGASA. The weather bureau also advised that residents in low-lying and mountainous areas under Signal No. 1 are warned against possible flashfloods and landslides..

PAGASA also forecasts that by tomorrow morning, Saturday, Bagyong Queenie is expected to be at 620 km west-northwest of Puerto Princesa City and it is expected to exit the western border of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between 7-8 PM tomorrow.

Bagyong Queenie is also expected to be at 1,230 km west northwest of Puerto Princesa City by Sunday morning but PAGASA warned that a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was also spotted 1,000 km east southeast of Southern Mindanao.
