The singer and actress Ericka Villongco clarified that the young star Nadine Lustre was the reason behind her breakup with her former boyfriend, actor and heartthrob James Reid.
In an interview with Philstar’s entertainment columnist Ricky Lo, the “Relaks, It’s Just Pag-ibig” star said she and James Reid had been together for three years, and they only broke up a month before the actor’s film with Nadine Lustre, “Diary ng Panget” was released.
While refusing to reveal the details of their breakup, Ericka Villongco said, “No, there was no third party. James was loyal, he was faithful, very loving.”
Ericka Villongco denied the rumors that Nadine Lustre affected her romantic ties with the “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash” winner, noting that she even spoke with her after their breakup.
“Nadine is very lovely, down-to-earth. After I broke up with James, we even talked. She told me, ‘I’m here for you.’ I’m happy for her team-up with James,” she said.
Ericka Villongco said she met James Reid when he made an appearance in the music video for her first music album with sister Krissy, with whom she was known as an acoustic duo.
James Reid and Nadine Lustre was launched as a love team via “Diary Ng Panget.” Afterthe box-office success of the movie, they were paired again in the film “Talk Back And You’re Dead.”
The teen stars, whose tandem was dubbed as “JaDine” recently starred in the ABS-CBN “Wanspanatym” miniseries “My App Boyfie,”
