The veteran singer Martin Nieverra tagged the Ultimate Multimedia star Toni Gonzaga as the next Concert Queen Pops Fernandez. His former wife is the producer of the singer-actress’ upcoming concert.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the country’s Concert King said that Pops Fernandez and Toni Gonzaga have a lot of similarities especially in character and talent.
“It’s funny that Pops is producing it because I see Toni as the next Pops. When I first saw Toni, she hosts, sings, dances, magaling mag-English, magaling mag-Tagalog. I told that to Toni many, many years ago. I said, ‘You remind me of my ex-wife’ because they are both pretty, they can be sexy, they can be funny,” he said.
The 52-year-old singer songwriter Martin Nievera admitted that he was invited to be one of the guest performers at the concert. However, he turned down the invitation since he will visit his son abroad and Toni Gonzaga understands it.
“Pops asked me to be one of the guests because Toni asked for me. She asked Toni who do you want, your dream guest, she chose me as one of them,” he said.
The concert, dubbed as “Celestine”, Toni Gonzaga’s real name, will be held on October 3 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. She will be joined by her sister Alex Gonzaga, Phenomenal actor and comedian Vice Ganda and other surprise guests.
Toni Gonzaga’s 15th year anniversary concert in the showbiz industry is directed by Paolo Valenciano, the son of “Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano.
