Remembering The Greatness Of National Heroes Of The Country On The National Heroes Day

Our national heroes had really played a very important role in achieving our country’s freedom. In attaining that freedom, they even sacrificed their lives. It’s actually the best time to remember their greatness and on the sacrifices they have made to let us enjoy the freedom that we have right now.

1.  Jose Rizal (1861-1896).

He was known because of his great mind. That even though he did not literally fight in the battle, he instead used his mind to be one of those people who have fought against the freedom of the country. He was also known on his novel entitled Noli Me Tangere in 1887 and El Filibusterismo in 1891.

2. Andress Bonifacio (1863-1897)

He was known as the Great Plebeian and the Father of the Philippine Revolution. Unlike Rizal, he is the one who leads the revolution towards freedom.

3. Apolinario Mabini (1864-1903)

He was known as the sublime paralytic and the brain of revolution.

4. General Gregorio del Pilar (1875-1899)

He was known as the Hero of Tirad Pass. He was the youngest and the bravest generals in the country.

5. Emilio Jacinto (1875-1899)

He was known as the brain of Katipunan. He also became Bonifacio’s trusted friend and adviser when he joined the Katipunan was back in 1894.

6. GOMBURZA 

They are also known as the three intellectual priests. They are Father Mariano Gomez (1799-1872), Father Jose Burgos (1837-1872) and Jacinto Zamora (1835-1872).

7. Melchora Aquino (1812-1919)

She was better known as the Tandang Sora or Tandang Gillian in the Philippine Revolution. She was the first octogenarian heroine of the said revolution.

8. General Antonio Luna (1866-1899)

He was a famous painter and known to be the youngest brother of Juan Luna. He is a general who fought in the Philippine-American War.

9. Graciano Lopez-Jaena (1856-1896)

He was known to be the founder and the first editor of the newspaper La Solidaridad. It actually became the way of expression of the Filipino Propaganda in Spain. He worked with this newspaper together with Jose Rizal and Marcelo H. del Pilar.

10. General Emilio Aguinaldo (1899-1964)

He was known as the first President of the Philippine Republic. He as also the one who proclaimed the independence of the country in Malolos, Bulacan way back in 1899.

Indeed, they are just some of the national hero who took a great part towards achieving Philippine independence. What they have sacrificed should really mean a lot to all Filipinos. Without them and without their courage, our country could possibly be not as what it is now. Though they have already died, their memories and greatness ever done in our country should always be remembered.
