10-Year-Old Girl Dies After Allegedly Being Rejected by Butuan Doctors Hospital

The mother of a 10-year-old girl blamed the Butuan Doctors Hospital for allegedly rejecting her daughter who was suffering from a congenital heart disease. The incident became one of the hottest topic on social media after the mother of the victim posted the details of how they were rejected by a hospital in Butuan through her Facebook account which went viral online.

Girl Rejected by Hospital

According to Tutz Salarda-Chan, the staff of Butuan Doctors Hospital allegedly rejected her dying daughter Jannary “Yanna” Chan, last July 15, 2014. Her daughter was previously confined at the San Francisco Doctors Hospital in Agusan del Sur two days before the incident.

Tuts Salarda-Chan noted that because of an emergency, she decided to transfer her daughter to the Butuan Doctors Hospital, believing it to be more well-equipped.

The family traveled for more than an hour to reach their destination hospital, only to be rejected because she only had around P10,000 on hand. The hospital allegedly demanding a P30,000 deposit.

The post of Salarda-Chan went viral since the day it was first posted, last August 11, 2014. Right now the post already garnered more than 88K Shares. The 10-year-old Yanna died on July 16, 2014, due to congestive heart failure.
