The Philippines’ newest lawmaker who was charged by Sandiganbayan, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, is currently at the detention center prepared by the PNP at Camp Crame, after he surrendered on Monday. He underwent the same booking procedures as what Sen. Bong Revilla experienced last Friday, which includes taking his mugshots.

Unlike Senator Bong Revilla, the booking procedures of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada was not made public by the PNP. The booking procedures includes physical and medical examination, as well as taking mugshots of the accused.
Although the mugshots of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada was not released to the media, GMA News, through their official website and their Twitter account published an exclusive mugshot photo of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada.
Based upon the photo posted by GMA News, Senator Jinggoy Estrada did not smile when the mugshot was taken, unlike the previous mugshots of Sen. Bong Revilla who was seen smiling despite the fact that he is currently facing one of the biggest challenge to his career as a politician.
Meanwhile according to the statement made by the PNP Public Information Office, making the mugshot released to the media is an irregular practice by the PNP. The only photo released by the PNP in connection with Sen. Jinggoy Estrada’s surrender is the photo of the Senator with his father, Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.
