South Korean Pop Phenomenon PSY Releases Statement On His Gangnam Style Video

The “Gangnam Style” video of South Korean Pop Phenomenon PSY and his horse-riding-style dance moves, definitely give a huge break and terrible impact to some netizens, garnering more than 2 billion views as it was published in the world’s largest social sharing site YouTube.

It can be remembered in February that 20-year-old Canadian Pop Superstar Justin Bieber made his “Baby” song joined in the billion-view club, and it was also the first video to reach billion of views around the world.

PSY Releases Statement On His Gangnam Style Video

On Friday, in the statement released by PSY with AFP regarding with the achievement of his “Gangnam Style” video, he said “Two billion views; they are very honorable and very burdensome numbers,” and further he added, “With the appreciation, I will come back soon with more joyful contents!”

According to the official channel of PSY, his “Gangnam Style” video reached nearly 100 million views just this year, and on Friday in northern California, where the YouTube was based, his song bring it to less than 500,000 shy of the two-billion mark.

After “Gangnam Style” uploaded in YouTube in the year 2012 which was was fueled by South Korean “K-Pop” trend, PSY’s phenomenal song immediately became a global sensation.

Meanwhile, PSY’s other famous hit “Gentleman” which also became a global sensation, set the record for more than 38 million views per day in April 14, 2013.
