Some areas of Cebu City particularly in Sitio Lawis and Nava in Alaska, Mambaling was hit by a tornado on Tuesday afternoon, April 8, 2014. Aside from Mambaling areas, Duljo Fatima also suffered the devastation brought about by the tornado.
According to an initial report, houses in Sitio Lawis and Nava in Alaska, Mambaling, Cebu City, were damaged by the tornado and tore through the coastal village of Cebu City.
Power outage was also reported in the area after housing materials like GI sheets were torn by tornado got caught in power lines. There are trees along Gochan St. in Barangay Mambaling fell to the ground.
The tornado (buhawi) moved towards the South Road Properties (SRP) area.
Cebu City was previously visited by tornado last October 6, 2013 which caused damaged to properties in the areas hit by the violent weather.
