The game of the Azkals against world 169th ranked Nepal will be a big build up for the national squad, who are preparing for the AFC Challenge Cup in Maldives on May.

The last time the two teams have met, was in 2011 in the country, where the Philippine 11, thrashed the visiting Nepalese with a 4-nil victory.

The Filipino booters, who now have Thomas Dooley calling the shots for them, might also face a local football club in Doha, Qatar where their friendly with Nepal will be held.

The 127th ranked Azkals had scoreless draw in their game against Malaysia last March 1 and went with a 1-nil loss to Azerbaijan last March 5. Although the country slide back on international FIFA rankings at 130th, the country remained as one of the favorite to win against Nepal.

The Philippine national football team is also preparing for a more physical game against Nepal as they expect the Nepalese team to bounce back from their previous international defeats suffered from the Philippine team.
