Malaya Watson Made it to Top 10 of American Idol Finalist (Video)

Filipino-American singer Malaya Watson continues to dominate as she made it to the top 10 of American Idol 2014 Season 13 following the results revealed earlier.

The 16-year-old Tuba player from Michigan gained an outstanding ovation from the judges and the audience featuring her soulful rendition of Jennifer Lopez’ single “I Am Changing” from the movie “Dreamgirls.”

Malaya Watson made a spectacular performance during the live show of the world’s most popular singing competition with the theme “Songs for the Cinema.”

Meanwhile, one of the American Idol hopeful Ben Briley was eliminated from the prestigious competition. Despite of his stunning rendition of song “Stars,” the singer failed to amaze the judges.

Malaya Watson, an alumna of Mosaic Youth Theater of Detroit and Michigan Opera Theatre Children’s Chorus has impressed the judges including Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban during her performance.

Jennifer Lopez quoted in a statement, “yes! Good girl Malaya! That’s a perfect song for and a perfect way to end the show. That was killer, you have an amazing voice, oh my God!”

Malaya Watson has secured a ticket for American Idol 2014 nationwide tour. The Top 10 finalists of American Idol Season 13 will be competing next week with the theme titled “Billboard Hits.”
