30 Talented Youngsters Selected to Join 2014 Seaoil NBTC All-star Game

A powerhouse roster of talented young ballers is set to mix it up in the 2014 Seaoil-NBTC high school all-star game set on March 9 at the Ynares arena in Pasig City.

Ateneo-bound and Fiba under-18 3×3 campaigners Arvin Tolentino and Thirdy Ravena together with La Salle’s Prince Rivero and NU Bullpups standouts Hubert Cani and John Cauilan paced this year’s star-studded batch.

A total of thirty up and coming players all over the country are picked thru a tough tryout last week to join the annual exhibition game of the said league. The participants named at the official launch on Monday.

“This season’s batch was the best in years and the selection committee had a difficult time in its final roster,” said Ato Badolato. (Statement from Spin.ph)

Joining the highly-touted juniors stars are other UAAP and NCAA players’ Lorenzo Battad and Manuel Mosqueda of NU, Javee Mocon, Ranbill Tongco and Rev Diputado of San Beda, San Sebastian’s Michael Calisaan, Alfred Gayosa, Ryan Paule Costelo, and Ranzelle Yong, Ivan Villanueva of Letran and FEU’s Richard Escoto and UP’s Diego Dario.

Hope Christian stalwarts John Apacible, Jobert Mercado, and Arjan Dela Cruz and Jarrel Lim and Isaac Go of Xavier, Chiang Kai Shek’s Mohammed Salim and Justin Serrano of Mapua-Malayan are also been invited to partake in the All-star game that will be held after the NBTC League National Finals.

Secondary players from outside the metro like Allen Delos Santos of Claret School Zamboanga, Glenn Gallardo of Sacred Heart of Jesus-Cagayan De Oro, Joshua Edjan of Hua Siong College of Iloilo, Keith Lowell Pido of West Negros University, Allyn Bulanadi of (–foul word(s) removed–)umption College of Davao, and Arnie Padilla of Sacred Heart School Cebu complete the cast in this year’s all-star showcase, which considered the strongest in recent years.

“I think in the last three editions, this is the most talented batch of high school players. Nagsabay-sabay silang lahat na magagaling kaya magsasama-sama sila for this All-Star Game,” said NBTC’s program director Eric Altamirano.
