Loreto, 23, was awarded for a title shot after making upset victories over former WBA champion (–foul word(s) removed–)sawan Porpramook and Wisanu Kokietgym.

According to Loreto’s manager Brico Santig, his client can be the next IBO light flyweight titleholder and draw another upset against South African fighter.

“He’s proven to be something of an upset king,” said Santig. “We are ready for war.”

Joyi’s camp, however, did not consider the filipino boxer as an underdog in this fight, instead, they prepared hard for the title.

“We are not taking the Filipino lightly. Underestimating an opponent can sometimes boomerang and leave you with egg on your face,” said Joyi’s manager Sipatho Handi.

The bout was an underdog of the WBA Middleweight title fight between Gennady Golovkin and Ghanaian Osumanu Adama.
