POC-PSC Task Force to Conduct Evaluation of Athletes for Asian Games

Philippine Olympic Committee – Philippine Sports Commission Task Force called for a general (–foul word(s) removed–)embly with National Sports (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation regarding the list of athletes that will be composing the Philippine delegate in the 2014 Asian Games this October 4 in Incheon, South Korea.

PSC Chairman Ricardo Garcia invited NSA heads to discuss about the preparation for the annual Asiad after a worst seventh place finish in the 2013 Southeast Asian Games held at Indonesia.

Among the priorities of the Task Force is the qualification of the athletes in different sports, taking them under evaluation just to (–foul word(s) removed–)ure better performance in the said competition.

Athletes who brought home gold medal in the recent SEA Games are excluded in the said evaluation while silver and bronze medalists still has to undergo screenings to attest their competitiveness.

According to Garcia, candidates who failed in the evaluation still have the chance to be part of the National Contingent by winning in other international tournaments.

Meanwhile, PSC was busy preparing for the 2013 Batang Pinoy National Finals in Bacolod City from January 28 to February 1 after it was moved from its
original schedule.
