Cebu Children Cried For Help Through Posters Saying “We Need Food and Water”

Super Typhoon Yolanda hit Cebu City last Friday November 8, 2013 and it brought a terrible impact to the lives of Cebuano people.

One of the resident in Cebu Carolina Misa shares her feeling when Yolanda struck their place.

70-year-old Misa, a resident of Barangay (village) Poblacion had been through a number of typhoons, but for her it was the first time that they’ve encountered a horrible incident such like this  “the wind is howling” she added.

Yolanda is one of the strongest typhoon that entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility and some of the infrastructures and agriculture were all destroyed and until now some area of the place has no electricity yet.

Misa and her grandchildren live in a two-story house and when Yolanda start battering Cebu, she and her grandchildren hide in comfort room to the point that their roof was teared off and their walls also collapsed.

Misa and her grandchildren encamped temporarily with other typhoon victims at the municipal hall along with thousands of people made homeless  and has been seeking help especially for food and construction materials.

Along the national road in Tabogon town, north Cebu province, residents appealed for help from motorists, Children were holding posters: “We need food and water,” “Please help.” Others were holding tin cans and were begging for money.

While traveling to the northern district, fallen trees and electric posts littered the road.

Most affected were Bogo City and the towns of Sogod, Tabogon, San Remigio and Daanbantayan, as well as Sta. Fe, Madridejos and Bantayan towns on Bantayan Island.
