Riza Santos Miss Universe Canada 2013 Profile Bio’s and Photos

Santos competed at the 2013 edition of Miss Universe Canada held in Toronto where she was hailed 1st Runner up to Denise Garrido. 24 hours later, it was revealed that she originally won due to a type error in the ratings of the Top 5 entries, which afterwards, significantly impacted the final results of the competition.

A week later, she was officially crowned as the new Miss Universe Canada 2013 in her hometown, Calgary, Alberta. This is the first instance of this type of error in the 11 years that Beauties of Canada (BOC) has produced the Miss Universe Canada pageant.

27-year-old Santos was raised in Alberta Canada who is an experienced actress and dancer and vocally trained in musical theatre and opera. Santos also have other skills such as jazz, hip-hop, salsa and traditional Filipino dance.

Her appearance in Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition II has something to do with Bantay Bata, ABS-CBN Foundation’s charitable institution.

Santos aspires to become an entrepreneur for her own engineering company and develop a scholarship fund students who do not have the financial resources to pursue a post-secondary education.

Riza Santos believe, “We are a society that must quickly adapt to a rapidly changing evolution and it is crucial that tolerance is practiced on a daily basis, whether you are a world leader, a community politician, a famous celebrity or even just a working cl(–foul word(s) removed–) civilian.”

• Riza can precisely and accurately hit a target using a C7 service rifle.
• Riza has acted in four major Filipino films, including the box office hit “Dobol Trobol,” where she played the leading lady and was trained in knife throwing.
• From 2008-2009, Riza was the official television host for the Asian Poker Tour, which aired on CS 9-Sports Channel and Solar Sports.
