One of the Philippines Miss Universe winner Gloria Diaz believes that Ariella Arida will win the much-coveted crown as the ultimate winner of the Miss Universe 2013 beauty pageant.

According to the 1969 Miss Universe title-holder, Ara Arida, has what it takes to be the next reigning queen of the international beauty pageant. The 66-year-old former beauty queen was quoted as saying that, “I think she is beautiful. She’s got everything, she’s a true Filipina. She’s very exotic in a positive way, she’s tall. She’s beautiful. Pero tayong mga Pilipino, na-spoil na eh. Kapag first runner-up, talo. No, they are all winners,” she stated.
The first Miss Universe title-holder from the Philippines, Gloria Diaz told told ABS-CBN News during an interview that she believes in Ariella Arida to win the Golden Nexus crown. Gloria Diaz stated further that Arida will make the country proud whether or not she gets to bring home the crown.
Gloria Diaz was instrumental in Ara Arida’s conquest of the Binibining Pilipinas 2013, she is one of the judges during the national pageant. The beauty queen and actress Diaz also stressed that if Arida will make it to the Top 5 she is already a winner but if she doesn’t make it, it’s still okay because she’s beautiful.
The Philippines dominated the Miss Universe beauty pageant for the last three years, with the last three candidates landing at the Top 5 of the Miss Universe. Venus Raj finished fourth runner-up in 2010, Shamcey Supsup finished third runner-up in 2011, while Janine Tugonon finished first runner-up in 2012.
