Manny Pacquiao’s Brothers Winner in Barangay Election in GenSan

Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao’s brothers were declared as winners in the recently concluded Barangay Elections in General Santos City. The dominance of Pacquiao’s Family in GenSan, proved once and for all that his clan continues to hold power in the region.

Alberto “Bobby” Pacquaio won as Barangay Councilor of Barangay Labangal while his wife Lorelei, was also re-elected as chairman of the same barangay. Other members of the Pacquiao siblings, Rogelio “Roel” Pacquiao, is also set to be proclaimed as third-term chairman of Barangay Apopong.

Manny’s brother, Rogelio Pacquiao is also a former candidate for congressman in South Cotabato last May 2013, but he was lost to Pedro Ancharon Jr. For the records, Manny Pacquiao is now on his second term as Sarangani Representative in the Lower House of Congress while Manny’s wife Jinkee, also won the vice-gubernatorial race in Sarangani.

During an earlier interview, Manny Pacquiao dismissed allegations that his family is slowly building a political dynasty in the region but he denied the issue. The 34-year-old Manny Pacquiao was quoted as saying that, “Hindi ako naniniwala dyan. Iyung iba nga dyan wala nga sa dynasty pero binubulsa iyung pera ng taumbayan, useless din. Ang pamilya Pacquiao, totoong pagtulong talaga,” he said.
