Petron Defeated San Mig Score 99-88 Extends Series to Game 7

The Petron Blaze Boosters defeated the San Mig Coffee Mixers in the Game Six of the PBA Governor’s Cup Finals on Wednesday night, October 23, 2013 at the Araneta Coliseum with the final score at 99-88.

The Blazers was able to extend the series into Game 7 after they rebounded from their back-to-back losses in the Finals series against San Mig Coffee. The Mixers failed to end the championship series in Game Six after they enjoyed a 3-2 advantage.

Petron squandered their 16-point lead before converting key points in the final stretch to secure the Game 6 of the Finals. San Mig Coffee made a tremendous run in the final period after Joe Devance hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 80-all with around 7 minutes and 30 seconds remaining.

The Coffee Mixers were on top after a turnover by PBA MVP Arwind Santos that led to a breakaway layup by Best Import awardee, Marqus Blakely, to put the Mixers ahead against the Boosters.

Petron answered with an Elijah Millsap drive pushing the Boosters ahead with three-point lead at 89-86. Chris Lutz also made a layup at around 2:23 mark putting the Boosters ahead by five points. Returning guard Alex Cabagnot extended the led for with his breakaway penetration. Pingris responded with a two-points but L(–foul word(s) removed–)iter scored with a jumper.

Chris Lutz scored another layup putting the Boosters away with 9 points lead and Elijah Millsap sealed the lead with a slam dunk for an 11-point victory for Petron, extending the series to Game 7 to be held in the same venue at the Smart Araneta Coliseum this coming Friday, October 26, 2013.
