Petron Defeated San Mig 90-68 in Game 3 of Governors Cup Finals

The Petron Blaze Boosters surprised the Game 2 winner San Mig Coffee as they avenged their previous lost via 90-68 victory in Game 3 of the PLDT Telpad Governors’ Cup Finals on Wednesday night at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

The Boosters was playing without their ace point Alex Cabagnot but with import Elijah Millsap manning the point guard position, the team cruised to a surprising victory against the San Mig Coffee. He led the Boosters with 28 points and eight rebounds and took his team at edge right now with a 2-1 win-loss advantage at the best of seven finals series.

The San Mig Coffee struggled with their offensive touches as they were held by the Boosters with just 10 points in the second quarter with 30-55 disadvantage before entering the halftime.

Petron was also able to push through their lead to 30 points at 77-47, late in the third quarter and never saw their led fall below 20 until the final buzzer of the game. Rookie June Mar Fajardo dominated the inside presence of Petron scoring with 19 points along with eight rebounds.

Best Import of the tournament Marqus Blakely was put to rest eight minutes before the end of the game leading San Mig Coffee with 17 points and 10 rebounds while James Yap, the only local who scored in double digits contributed with 10 points.
