The newest Kapatid artist, Ogie Alcasid admitted that his new musical show could not compete against the popularity of “The Voice of the Philippines,” but his defeat didn’t stop him from praising his rival show.
The 46-year-old Alcasid said his musical show, even with the popularity of his co-hosts Sharon Cuneta, can’t compete with the Philippines most popular singing competition, The Voice Ph.
According to the former Kapuso star, even just to get a little bit of the audience is enough for him because his show, “The Mega and the Songwriter,” is so small compared to the popularity of “The Voice of the Philippines,” which he dubbed as “biggest shows that hit the country, musical wise.”
Aside from the praising his rival show, he thanked ABS-CBN for helping the Filipino singing talents being discovered by “The Voice,” which makes him proud as a Filipino artist. He also congratulated the grand winner, Mitoy Yonting, which according to Ogie, he knows Mitoy during his stint with “Eat Bulaga.”
On Wednesday afternoon, October 2, 2013, Ogie Alcasid renewed his contract with Universal Records for three more years. He is set to record his newest album and he hopes that he can promote his newest CD on ABS-CBN.
