The reigning Binibining Pilipinas winner Ariella Arida will be featured by Anthony Taberna on his exclusive show, “Tapatan ni Tunying,” today, October 3, 2013 at around 4:45 PM.
The 24-year-old Ariella Arida stated that she can handle the pressure right especially with the huge expectations of her countrymen to capture the much-coted Miss Universe title. Arida stated that the pressure will be used as motivation for her.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2013 admitted that from the start, everyone expects her to get the title, the people’s expectations are even higher right after the success of Megan Young in the recently concluded Miss World 2013 wherein she was able to bring home the blue crown.
The Philippines achievement in the last three Miss Universe competition put more pressure on her shoulder. Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup and Janine Tugonon were three consecutive runner-up in the Miss Universe. The Philippines also won back to back titles with Mutya Johanna Datul winning the Miss Supranational recently followed by Megan Young as Miss World 2013.
Ariella Arida stated that she doesn’t mind the constant pressure and tough preparations because she is p(–foul word(s) removed–)ionate of what she is doing. She was quoted as saying that, “To be a beauty queen was my wildest dream. I was inspired by Miriam Quiambao while I was watching her in my grade school years. I spoke to myself then and said that it was a possible dream and I could attain it,” she said.
Aside from handling the pressures, Ariella also hopes that the country will support her as she vies to clinch the Miss Universe title in Russia. The coronation night of the Miss Universe 2013 will be held this coming November 9, 2013 at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia.
