The UAAP Season 76 Finals showdown will begin today between the UST Growling Tigers and the De La Salle University Green Archers in the Best-of-3 Finals Series at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The game will start at around 4:00 PM (PST).

Both the Green Archers and the Tigers were tied during the elimination and with 1 win and 1 loss record. During their first encounter, the UST defeated the DLSU with the final score at 63-58. On their second encounter the DLSU avenged their previous lost and ended up with a 69-65 victory over the Growling Tigers.
Before reaching the finals of the UAAP Season 76, the DLSU finished with 10-4 recordsin elimination, they defeated FEU in the knock-out game for second seed at 74-69. DLSU also defeated the former elimination round undefeated team FEU with 71-68 en route to the finals of men’s basketball championship.
The UST Growling Tigers knocked out the five-time defending champion Ateneo in the elimination for the final playoff berth, finishing 8-6 in the elimination rounds. The Growling TIgers defeated top-seed team NU twice in the Final Four with 71-62 and 76-69 on scoreboard.
In terms of championship experience, the UST Growling Tigers have the experience as they return to the finals with the hope of bringing the much-coveted trophy home. Aside from their championship experience, the UST Tigers is also th reigning Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) titlist.
The DLSU may lack experience but they were also a veteran champions team, they made it to the finals way back the year 2008 although its core players graduated already but their new breed of warriors are raring to bring back the glory to their home at Taft Avenue.
