The decision was made after PBA Commissioner Chito Salud on Friday morning after he made a meeting with the erring players in his office in Libis, Quezon City on Thursday.
Aside from Nabong and Pingris, Joe Devance was also slapped with suspension, while Marvin Hayes was meted a fine for their involvement with the latest controversial fight during PBA games.
Joe Devance will be suspended with one-game ban and a P30,000 fine “for triggering the commotion that led to the fight,” Commissioner Salud stated. GlobalPort import Marvin Hayes won’t be suspended but was sanctioned a P20,000 fine for his “unsportsmanlike conduct, equivalent to a flagrant foul penalty two.”
Commissioner Salud also stressed that, “fighting is not condoned in the PBA. Theris absolutely no justification for our players to get involved in fistfights.” The PBA stated that all fines will go to the PBA Players’ Trust Fund.
