FEU Defeated La Salle Leading UAAP 76 Team Standing (July 13)

The Far Eastern University Tamaraws made a remarkable record as they kept their unbeaten record with 4-0 victory after they successfully defeated the De La Salle Green Archers with their come-from-behind victory in the UAAP Season 76 Men’s Basketball at the Mall of Asia Arena tonight, July 13, 2013.

The Tamaraws made a comeback in the final minutes of the fourth quarter and during the overtime period to snatch a win against the Archers. The OT game ended with the final score at 83-79. FEU’s Terrence Romeo was brilliant all game long while RR Garcia came through in the payoff period and overtime to help FEU erased a 12-point La Salle down the stretch.

During the final period of the match, the Archers looked poised to give the Tamaraws their first loss of the season when they were leading with 12 points at 75-63, but the league-leading Tamaraws refused to wilt under pressure and made the next dozen points to force overtime.

Terrence Romeo hit two triples while RR Garcia scored on a layup during the 15-2 exchange in the final 2:16 added by the biggest basket of the game through the effort Mac Belo who scored a pumped fake in the last 14 seconds to complete the amazing climb from the 14-point deficit.

In overtime, Garcia knocked in consecutive baskets that sandwiched a charity split by La Salle gunner Jeron Teng to give the Tams their first lead since the third quarter.
