The former ruling party of the Philippines and one of the most popular group of politician, the Lakas-Christian Democrats (Lakas-CMD) announced their support to four other senatorial candidates in the May 2013 poll.
Lakas endorsed two from the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), one from Team PNoy and one independent candidate, Bro. Eddie Villanueva of Bangon Pilipinas.
Here’s the list of Four Senatoriables endorsed by Lakas:
- Nancy Binay (UNA)
- Richard Gordon (UNA)
- Cynthia Villar (Team PNoy)
- Eddie Villanueva (Independent)
With the announcement of the remaining four candidates, Lakas has a total of 10 candidates in the national level with 6 bets from UNA, 3 from Team PNoy and 2 independent candidates.
According to Lakas, the remaining two slots will depend on the decision of Lakas-CMD members at the local level. the announcement was made through Lakas President and Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez during a press conference held on April 17, 2013.
