A total of 6,212 farmers who were qualified to own parcels of land in 4,300-hectare Hacienda Luisita according to the Department of Agrarian Reporm which released the list on Tuesday, February 27, 2013.
The distribution of hard copies of the lists were led by Secretary Virgilio de los Reyes and Undersecretary Tonipi Parungao.
The DAR have also put up tarpaulins that contain the names of those who made it to the Final Master List of Beneficiaries to be later awarded farming lots under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).
According to DAR, after the release of the official list of beneficiaries, they will conduct geodetic survey of the land, minus the non-agricultural parts like roads, so that the size of the land that each farmer-benificiary gets may be known.
The Department of Agrarian Reporms projects that the certificate of land ownership award (CLOA) would be distributed this coming May or June 2013.
