The 28-year-old from Vietnam, had a rare ageing disease wherein she looks twice older compared to her age. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Mai was first diagnose with Werber syndrome at age of 10, but because of her parents are not in financial stable she has unable to get the necessary treatment to cure the rare ageing disorder.
In finding ways, she underwent plastic surgery to restore her appearance after following a consultation at China Medical University Hospital in central Taiwan.
Mai stated after the surgery that “I feel like I am being reborn and there are hopes in my life again.”
Her Doctors said that Mai’s surgery was the first of its kind in Taiwan and they expect her to maintain a healthy lifestyle as long as she avoids the sun.
