Manny Pacquiao answers the rumors of controversial victory

The Filipino boxing super hero Manny Pacquiao answers the rumors about the controversial victory over Juan Manuel Marquez in their trilogy bout last Saturday evening (Sunday morning in the Philippines, November 13, 2011) in MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Pacquiao told “Umagang Kay Ganda” of ABS-CBN television program that not all of his victories are easy. Most of the countrymen were used to see the fight ending with knock out. He explained that there are times to win the bout with a very close fight and usually ended by means of unanimous decision.

The Filipino boxing champion also explained that one thing hindered his good footwork was his leg cramp that he feel early in the starting of the fight and worsened in several final rounds in which he found it difficult for his movement to attack Marquez. He did not also expect the fighting style of the Mexican boxer that keeps moving backwards waiting for good chances that he could counter punch.

Meanwhile, correspondent Dyan Castillejo said that the Filipino boxing champion was noticeably affected by the boos of the Mexican fans because they strongly believed that their boxing Mexican idol won during their trilogy bout.

Amidst the rumors of controversial victory, Pacquiao and his team believed that he won the fight because of more solid punches landed according to the statistics recorded in the Compubox.
