Electronic Arts: Adds to the list of hacked systems

electronic artsElectronic Arts was the latest addition to the string of global hacking incidents taking off since April this year.

Number of the data’s affected by the breach was not yet confirmed by the U.S. Video Game giant however, they stressed that no credit card data was being affected by the breach.

Further, they said that what was affected on the said attacked were initial including that of usernames, encrypted p(–foul word(s) removed–)words, e-mail addresses and names to name a few. This basic data were similar to the usual data gathered and taken by hackers when they launched intrusion.

The hacking incident was reported to have taken place on Friday.

As immediate response when the intrusion was detected, they then published in their site some of useful tips in order to guide their customers on what to do to their accounts in order to avoid troubles.

Prior to the recent hacking incident, no party or group of hackers claimed to be responsible of the breach.

Last week, there were sites which were victims of the hacking series such as the Sega P(–foul word(s) removed–) online, a Europe based site under Sega Corp wherein an approximate 1.29 million users data were compromised.

Hacking had been on top of the news today, and the group behind this serves as threat to numerous high-profile companies, government organizations and video game developers.

For a record, the breach for Sony  was considered to be one of the biggest compromised data, almost 100 million information were at stake during the string of hacking activity to various sites under its wing.

Electronic Arts is a major video game developer and marketer as well as publisher which was founded by Trip Hawkins. Established in 1982, EA pioneered the early home computer game industry and so far in their success in their field, Electronic Arts is one of the largest game publishers in the world.
