A Filipina domestic helper named only as “Ronna” was arrested by Hong Kong police after facing allegations that she flushed a 3-month-old fetus down the toilet.
Ronna, 32, is currently detained yesterday due to illegal abortion. The incident took place in her employer’s flat found in Greenville Garden at Shiu Fai Terrace close to Happy Valley.
Her female employer had noticed that she was sick. Because of that, she was brought to Ruttonjee Hospital for consultation.

After an initial medical analysis, a confirmation was given that the OFW recently gave birth. In this connection, the police spokesman even stated that there had been no other suspicious conditions possible.
Sources say that Ronna admitted that she conceived a baby known to be three months old. However, the fetus was delivered on its premature stage. Based on her confessions, Ronna placed the fetus into the toilet and decided to flush it.
Hong Kong authorities conducted a search operation as they tried to search into the sewage pipes later had no avail.

Ronna’s employers said that they never knew she had a boyfriend. Concerned with her health condition, they decided to transfer the patient to the custodial ward of Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital.
Ronna has a baby however, she is still unmarried. Meanwhile, the consulate general had not been informed about her case.
