Another fame will lift the name of Ted Failon being the news anchor of ABS-CBN because he is set to receive a prestigious award as the Broadcaster of the Year from The Rotary Club of Manila (RCM).

Mario Teodoro Failon Etong is the real name behind the famous Ted Failon. He is 49 years old and currently works as a host-anchor of the ABS-CBN news segment entitled “Failon Ngayon”.

Failon is also present in the primetime news broadcast “TV Patrol”. At the same time, he also delivers information via radio station through the “Tambalang Failon at Webb”.

With all his dedication being a journalist, the RCM board of judges decided to choose Failon to receive the trophy.

It was in 1982 that Failon began his career in the field of broadcasting. His experience being a congressman as well as a disc jockey gradually made his way to receive several acknowledgments.

Failon was once awarded as the Most Admired Personalities in Television through Anak TV. Added to his collection is the recognition known to be Best Public Service Program Host he got from the ABS-CBN defunct television program entitled “Hoy! Gising”.

Aside from those awards, the trusted ABS-CBN news anchor was also selected as the Best TV Newscaster in the year 2008 from the KBP Golden Dove awards and in 2010, he also became the Best Radio Newscaster. All the mentioned honors are just among the multiple awards that Ted Failon had accepted.

In 1996, the RCM led to organize awards for journalism to give appreciation to those individuals likewise to the media agencies who spread awareness via newspapers, radio or television. Those who bestowed significant contributions to disseminate information are worthy to be recognized.

The awards given for the present year are to be given to the outstanding journalists in both social media and tri-media.

The citation is yet to be given to Failon in an awarding ceremony that will take place at the Manila Polo Club on May 5.
