Reynaldo Uy, mayor of Calbayog City, Samar, Philippines killed after shooting incident while attending in Fiesta celebration in Hinabangan, Samar, Philippines.

The shooting incident took place at around 9:30 evening of May 01, 2011.

Soon after the fiesta program started, the unidentified suspect shoots the city mayor and killed using the high-powered rifle.

Samar Board member Eunice Babalcon was also wounded in her right arm due to the shooting incident.

According to the report the bullet hit the back and pierces the left breast part of the victim that caused untimely death of the Calbayog City mayor at around 1:00 a.m. early Monday morning.

Mayor Aalejandro of Abarratigue, Hinabangan, Samar said, “Please help me, you know I did nothing wrong.”

“We cannot say that there will be no political issues surrounded the said incident,” he added.

President Aquino orders to investigate the shooting incident.

“I can (–foul word(s) removed–)ure the people about the problem of Rey Uy that really a countdown and there will be no more untoward violent incidents,” Aquino said.

Police Regional officer Chief Superintendent Arnold Revilla of Eastern Visayas said, “We could not afford to be speculative in so far as the conduct of our investigation is concern.”

The family of Uy refused to be interviewed by the media.
