A woman in Germany gave birth to world’s most premature baby. She only had a 21 weeks and five day’s pregnancy, which made her baby as the world’s most premature baby who ever survive. The report started to circulate last Saturday at different newspaper.

The baby was named Frieda; she only measured 11inches (28 centimeters) and weighed one pound (460 grams) when she born on November 7.

After the five and a half months of fighting to survive for her life, she was finally fit to leave the clinic in Fulda, Western Germany, in the next few days. She is now weighing 7.7 pounds (3.5 Kilos) and measures 50 centimeters (nearly 20 inches). This is according to the reports in the newspaper.

Frieda has a twin brother but died a few days after being born, they named her twin as Killian.

The director of the pediatric clinic, Professor Reinaid Repp was tried to reach by the media for a statement but he was not there last Saturday. One of the doctors which is on duty that time told AFP that there are no after effects foreseeable at the moment and they are expecting that the little girl will develop normally like the other child.

According to Repp, the situation of Frieda was considered as a miracle, for mostly child who were born before 22 weeks die because their lungs, heart and brain are not yet sufficiently developed

In the statement released by Repp to the papers, he said that they kept Frieda at a completely sterile environment with his breathing (–foul word(s) removed–)isted and feed her through her navel.

Babies who were born before eight months of pregnancy are considered as premature but those babies born less than 32 weeks are considered at high risk of suffering problems as they develop.
